Snow and clouds, Redwall cliffs - South Kaibab Trail, December 1992

I took this photograph on a short day hike down the South Kaibab Trail, the morning after a fresh snowfall. It was one of those magical moments in the canyon—seeing the clouds hugging the Redwall limestone cliffs, drifting and shifting like a living landscape. I couldn’t help but stop and take it all in, completely captivated by the scene. Moments like this are what make every visit to the Grand Canyon feel special, no matter how many times I’ve been here.
